There are 55 mountian peaks in the continental Untied States over
14,000 feet. 50 of them are in Colorado. If you are really looking to experience the Rocky Mountain high country Colorado
is the place to go. With a rich history of gold and silver mining, fur trading and ranching, Colorado has something for everyone.
Seasons
Most ranches in Colorado run June through September.
Many will offer special fall packages such as adults only weeks, cowgirl retreats, or singles weeks. Some ranches also
run hunting season for mule deer, elk and black bear.
Weather
Summers are typically warm and dry with day time tempatures
in the 70s and 80s. Night time temperatures are cool with tempatures from 40s to 50s.

As you enter the Elk River Valley, just beyond Steamboat Springs,
Colorado, you notice the peaked eaves of the barns, the storybook crest of Hahn's Peak in the distance, and the feeling that
you are going back in time to a more idyllic setting. This landscape hasn't changed much in 100 years. No condos. No streetlights.
Colorado as you hoped it would be: big ranches, blue skies, and real cowboys.
Have you ever sat on a horse on the top of a bluff and could see
forever? The beauty of the topography at different times of the day is overwhelming; not to say the double rainbows we see
when storms come and go. You may want to bring your telescopes if you are star gazers. Nights here are so peaceful and the
sky is compounded with stars and views of our universe.
